From November 7 to 10, the "9th National Experimental Skills Showcase for Pharmacy/Traditional Chinese Medicine Majors in Medical Universities and Seminar on Experimental and Practical Teaching" was held in Nanjing, Jiangsu. The event was jointly organized by the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center Joint Conference of Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, the Organizing Committee of the National Pharmaceutical Colleges and Universities Professional Technical and Experimental Skills Competition, the Virtual Teaching and Research Office of Pharmacy Courses of the Ministry of Education, the "101 Plan" Virtual Teaching and Research Office of New Traditional Chinese Medicine Drug Research Courses, and China Pharmaceutical University, with China Pharmaceutical University serving as the host. Aiming to enhance experimental skills, deepen practical education, and promote the cultivation of innovative talents in pharmacy, the event received enthusiastic responses from medical universities nationwide, attracting over 900 teachers and students from 161 universities, including Peking University, Zhejiang University, and Fudan University.

The College of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine, sent two teams to participate in the competition. The contest covered multiple core areas of pharmacy, such as medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutical analysis, and pharmaceutics, and included both theoretical assessments and experimental operations to comprehensively evaluate students' professional competence and practical abilities. After intense competition, two students from the Class of 2023 Pharmacy program—Tang Wenshi and Wang Huiting—demonstrated solid theoretical knowledge and proficient experimental skills, both winning third prizes.

Promoting teaching and learning through competition, this participation not only broadened the professional horizons of both teachers and students but also accumulated valuable experience for the College of Pharmacy in deepening experimental teaching reforms and innovating talent cultivation models. In the future, the College of Pharmacy will continue to strengthen the connotative development of experimental teaching, improve the educational mechanism that "integrates science and education, and combines competition with teaching," and focus on enhancing students' scientific research innovation capabilities and practical application skills, cultivating more high-quality, interdisciplinary pharmaceutical talents.
