Author: Xu Yujie Date: 2026-01-04

On the morning of December 31, the Faculty of Medicine held a symposium for representatives of talents recruited in the past three years. The symposium was chaired by the principal administrative leader of the Faculty of Medicine, aiming to listen to the voices of young talents, address development challenges, unite efforts, and promote the high-quality development of the Faculty of Medicine. Attendees included the specially appointed professor assisting the principal administrative leader, heads of relevant functional offices, and 11 representatives of high-level talents newly recruited by the Faculty of Medicine in the past three years.

The symposium featured a warm and harmonious atmosphere with active exchanges. The 11 representatives of newly recruited talents spoke in turn, providing detailed introductions of their work in teaching, research, team building, and project advancement based on their academic backgrounds and practical experiences since joining. They shared genuine feelings and growth gains from their work in the Faculty. During the discussions, the talent representatives, based on their actual positions, freely expressed their views on key issues such as optimizing the university's talent recruitment policies, research funding support, assistance in forming disciplinary teams, sharing resources of experimental platforms, and expanding academic exchange and collaboration. They fully acknowledged the Faculty's efforts in talent cultivation and research support while also proposing a series of constructive and actionable suggestions, providing important references for the Faculty's future improvements.

The principal administrative leader listened attentively to each representative's remarks and engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions on issues of common concern, providing detailed responses and answers to some questions on the spot. She emphasized that newly recruited talents are fresh blood injected into the Faculty of Medicine, and their thoughts, concerns, and aspirations directly impact the vitality and potential of the Faculty's development. Currently, the Faculty of Medicine is in a dual critical period of advancing the "Medical Excellence" plan and preparing for the relocation to the new building, where opportunities and challenges coexist, urgently requiring all talents to unite and work together. She encouraged the newly recruited talents to actively integrate into the overall development of the Faculty, identify the convergence points between their academic directions and the Faculty's development needs, and demonstrate courage and innovation in taking responsibility, growing and progressing together with the Faculty. Regarding specific issues of concern raised by the representatives, such as multi-level academic exchange platforms, fee standards for large-scale instrument usage, and mechanisms for graduate student recruitment conditions and quota allocation, she clearly stated that the Faculty would immediately organize relevant offices to conduct special research and demonstrations, solicit broad opinions, develop practical solutions, and promptly address these concerns. This will create a more favorable, efficient, and convenient working and living environment for talents, allowing them to focus wholeheartedly on research and teaching.

The convening of this symposium not only established an efficient communication bridge between the management of the Faculty of Medicine and newly recruited talents but also fully demonstrated the Faculty's high regard for talent work and commitment to service. Through face-to-face exchanges, the event effectively identified bottlenecks and challenges in talent development, further consolidating consensus on development. The attending talent representatives unanimously expressed that they would take this symposium as an opportunity to strengthen their confidence in development, actively engage in various construction initiatives of the Faculty, and contribute their wisdom and strength to promoting the high-quality development of the Faculty of Medicine.
