Author: Date: 2025-11-18

On November 15, the Basic Medicine track of the 15th Zhejiang Provincial College Student Medical Technical Skills Competition concluded at the Cangqian Campus of Hangzhou Normal University. Over 160 medical students from 39 teams across 13 universities in the province participated in the competition. Three teams guided by nine teachers from the School of Basic Medical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Ningbo University—Xi Yang, Jin Xiaofeng, Yang Mengjie, Hou Xin, Chen Xiaowei, Li Na, Chen Yiyong, Xu Jia, and Wang Xiao—achieved outstanding results, winning one silver medal and two bronze medals.

The competition consisted of three modules: theoretical knowledge assessment, operational skills assessment, and medical experimental design. The theoretical knowledge assessment randomly selected questions from the China Medical Education Question Bank, covering core basic medical courses such as anatomy, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, pathology, physiology, and pharmacology. The operational skills assessment included three testing stations: systematic anatomy and pathology skills, microbiology and molecular medicine skills, and functional experiment skills, with team members randomly selected for evaluation on the day of the exam. The experimental design module assessed students' scientific research thinking, experimental design logic, and teamwork abilities. After intense competition, the team guided by teachers Xi Yang, Jin Xiaofeng, Yang Mengjie, and others, consisting of students Meng You, Li Lele, He Yan, and Zhao Shirui, won the second prize. Two teams guided by teachers Hou Xin, Chen Xiaowei, Li Na, Chen Yiyong, Xu Jia, Wang Xiao, and others, with members Zheng Rou, Ouyang Xiang, Chen Yushan, Xiao Yuxin, Zhu Yuanlong, Chang Han, Wang Yu, and Ji Haoqiang, secured third prizes.

This competition provided a comprehensive assessment of participating students' theoretical knowledge, experimental skills, scientific research practice, and presentation abilities. Through the discipline competition model of "promoting teaching and learning through competitions, and integrating learning with competitions," it contributed to cultivating outstanding medical talents. Simultaneously, it served as practical training for the teaching team of the School of Basic Medical Sciences, accumulating valuable experience for enhancing the quality of basic medical education.
